Recently, it has been revealed that hosted video conferencing will be expanded across Indian prisons. This was followed by the mandate of the Maharashtra government. The said endeavor will intend to reduce the risk and lessen the expense of conveying suspected criminals to and from court appearances, with plans to implement the technology in 83 locations, as reported by the Economic Times. Presently, 15 courts and 28 prisons support the facility. The government set to improve the service by delivering two in the Thane facility and three units in Mumbai central prison, as well as many more.
