There are several uses of video conferencing technologies known worldwide. Upon the conception of this technology, only limited uses are listed as other important uses of it was not reviewed. Since telepresence technologies have been constantly upgraded, varied uses surface which are proven to be of great help for companies and other organizations. Nowadays, video conferencing technologies are utilized in many hospitals in order to improve the quality of education being delivered. Some hospitals use video conferencing 3D avatars to demonstrate certain surgical operations that can be viewed in different angles. Video conferencing technologies are also utilized on trial courts and jails which lower travel risks for some accused.

Thousands of uses for video conferencing technologies are yet to be discovered. Among those will certainly change how future employees, students, or companies perform their daily tasks. One interesting discovery of telepresence usage is for education. Since education is very important in order to shape young generations, it is good to know that video conferencing companies are helping out to achieve a better quality of education.

Video conferencing technologies are now being utilized in higher education. The use of telepresence technologies in teaching is still on its early stage. Doctor Lance Ford, Cisco’s Educational Technology Advocate, is currently a faculty of University of Maine, Farmington. He teaches a graduate course in technology integration for teachers in the university. He said that he focuses on impacting the individual students in attaining their full potential through available technology tools. Among these tools are video conferencing technologies.
